Product options and variations
Offer choices such as size or colour with the correct variant stock.
Admin → Settings → Product options; Catalogue → Products → Variation
What to do
- 01
In Product options, select Add Product Attribute and create an option such as Size. Add its choices, such as Small, Medium and Large.
- 02
Open the product and add the supported variation combinations.
- 03
Assign each variant a unique SKU, price and relevant media/stock data.
- 04
Receive stock for the correct variant where the purchase workflow requires it.
- 05
Test selection on the product page and verify the chosen variant in the cart.

What you should see
Customers select a valid combination before adding it to the cart. The selected variant determines the quoted product data.
Good to know
- A direct Add action can add a simple product immediately; a product needing a choice must ask for that choice first.
- Do not reuse a SKU already assigned to a product or another variant.
- Changing options after sales can affect catalogue consistency; preserve historical orders.
Need help?
- Product opens instead of adding? Check whether it needs variation selection.
- Selected variant unavailable? Verify that variant’s stock, not just the parent product.
